Check my answer. Solve 50q - 43 = 52q - 81. My Answer: Okay, so first we subtract 52q from both sides so that we get only one variable. 50q - 52q - 43 = 52q - 52q - 81 = - 2q - 43 = - 81, now we add 43 to both sides. - 2q - 43 + 43 = - 81 + 43 = - 2q = - 38, now we divide both sides by - 2. - 2q/ - 2 = - 38/ - 2 = q = 19.
