For the data in the table, does y vary directly with x? If it does, write an equation for the direct variation. x y 3 6 6 18 8 24

OpenStudy (nubeer):

\[y \alpha x\] for removing variation sign we put a constant y = kx now u have values of x and y in table try plugging in each value if u get same value of k for each value then it varies directly

I get some of what ore saying but im still a bit confused

OpenStudy (nubeer):

about which part?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

u have y = kx equation now look first value in table y = 6,x = 3 put in equation what cvalue of x u will get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so like am i multiplying or adding the x and y axis

OpenStudy (nubeer):

umm no.. its not any axis it just values but yes u can plot on graph but thats not the point here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay :/ im just like really suckish at graphs and stuff ugh
