What equation passes through BOTH (0,0) and (-1,5)? A) -x+5y=0 B) y-5x C) (y+5)=1/5 (x-1) D) 5x+y=0 I got B. Correct?

OpenStudy (hba):

Use, \[\ y-y_1=\frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2-x_1 }(x-x_1)\] Now put the values and solve (x1,y1)=(0,0) and (x2,y2)=(-1,5)

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

B is not an equation. The easiest way to solve is by plugging in (0,0) and (-1,5) into an equation and see if both sides of the equation are true. EX: 0=0 5=5

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You didn't give us all of B) but I can see enough of the others to know that you didn't get the correct answer :-)
