i need some help please...

OpenStudy (aaronq):

what are cells created through meiosis used for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

babies?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

sex cells

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh..ok...sooo..

OpenStudy (aaronq):

so how much genetic material do sex cells have, in comparison to somatic cells?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk..how much?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

i would suggest you re-read your book or whatever resource you're studying from. If you don't have one i can provide you with a link. You should know that through meiosis daughter cells have half of the genetic material, and through mitosis, daughters cells have the normal amount. So it would have double the necessary genetic amount and so it would not be a viable zygote.

thank you!:)

no problem
