4x+5=3x-2

you are allowed to add or subtract a number as long as you do it to each side of the equation. You want to try and add/subtract so that x is positive, if you can. I'll show the first step... 1) 4x + 5 - 3x=3x - 2 - 3x x + 5 = -2 You finish

yes

make it easier and just put related numbers on their side... 4x+5 = 3x-2 ====> 4x-3x = -2+5... solve the last equation i wrote

So it would be 1x =3 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well try inputting 3 for x. And see what happens. x=-7.
