phenol with FeCl3 gives=> 6C6H5OH +FeCl3-->H3[Fe(OC6H5)6]+ 3HCl. can any one tell me what product will be formed when the complex formed react with dil.HCl??

when the complex formed it gave intense purple colour... and whn i added dil.HCl the colour disappeared forming a yellow solution...

Don't you already have the product in your equation? If I remember correctly, I think that it gives you a benzyl chloride when treated with dilute HCl and a metal catalyst.
