What is the value of the x variable in the solution to the following system of equations? 3x + y = 1 6x + 2y = -9 (4 points) A) 0 B) 2 C) There is no x value as there is no solution to this system D) x can be any value as there are infinitely many solutions to this system

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Solve by substitution or combination/elimination. What happens? If you end up with a value for x, hopefully it is either A or B. If you end up with a (false) statement like 2 = 0, that means there is no solution. If you end up with a (true) statement like 0=0, then there are infinitely many solutions to this system.
