How did farming change from the first Industrial Revolution to the second Industrial Revolution? Farm production decreased as more and more farmers moved to the cities to seek work. Technology improved and fewer farmers were needed to produce the population's food. New tools made it necessary for more people to move to rural lands to maintain farms. Farming began to dominate the U.S. economy as improved technology increased production.
