A Galaxy is moving away from us at 2.5 x 10^7 m/s. What is the frequency of light observed by us if the the wavelength of the emitted light is 500nm? What would the the frequencies become in Problems 17 and 18 if the galaxy was moving towards us?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In physics (especially astrophysics), redshift happens when light seen coming from an object that is moving away is proportionally increased in wavelength, or shifted to the red end of the spectrum.
