What were the causes of World War I?

Main causes were linked with imperialism, nationalism, militarism etc.

The assasination of Austria-hungarian, archduke franz ferdinand in sarajevo was the main cause of ww1 and lead to many other events. It wasnt just one cause but a whole chain of things that happened. This assasination lead to Austria Hungary declaring war on Serbia because thats where the murderers were from!

then when russia began to help serbia, germany declared war on russia leading to the big World War 1 ! .. continued into WW2
