tuvwxyz?

OpenStudy (kuoministers):

\[x^{-2} \times 2x^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What exactly is the question?

OpenStudy (kuoministers):

that

OpenStudy (kuoministers):

is there an answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You just want to multiply\[x^{2} \times 2x^{2}\]?

OpenStudy (kuoministers):

nope x to the power of negative 2

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

x^-2 = 1 / x^2 1 / x^2 * 2x^2 = 2x^2 / x^2 = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. When you multiply two terms that have the same power of x together, you multiply their coefficients. Then for the exponents you simply add them together, as blurbendy did.
