Find the number of subsets the set has. {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im sure theres some tidy little rule like 2^n or 2^n -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are the possible answer A. 64 B. 127 C. 128 D. 7

OpenStudy (amistre64):

spose we got just 3 elements: a,b,c no elements: { } 1 elements: {a} {b} {c} 2 elements: {a,b} {a,c} {b,c} 3 elements: {a,b,c} thats a total of 8 sets. which is 2^3 so im gonna take a gander and say its 2^n, when there are "n" number of elements in the set
