You have already earned $48 washing cars and plan to earn $12 for each additional car you wash. Write an equation to represent d, the amount earned in dollars, as a fuction of c, the number of affitional cars you wash A)c = 12d B)d = 48 + 12c C)d = 12c D)c = 48 + 12d * the answer is B, but id like to know the steps, i circled d which was wrong, now im re doing it*

$48 is the amount you have already earned, its the fixed cost and so it will not change. Now the variable c represents each ADDITIONAL car you wash. and for each additional car you earn $12 . therefore d=48 (fixed cost) + 12c (for every car additional car washed you earn $12. :)

for every additional car you washed you earned $12 .. so if you washed 5 additional cars the equation would be d=48 + 12(5) .. you would replace the C variable with 5 and solve
