If California split off from the USA, it would hurt our country. It would hurt us economically, by taking away a big chunk of our wealth. California doesn’t deserve a seat in the UN. The UN is only for nations; people in California are US citizens; they do not have a culture or a culture that is exclusive to the rest of the US. In this sense, California is not a nation. Federalism is the system where states and national governments share power.
