In which stage do low-mass and high-mass stars’ life cycles start to become different?

the way i understand it : the 2 dif stars will burn ( nucular fusion ) through thier " fuel " ( hydrogen ) the moment they are born ( fusion begins ) the larger mass star will burn brighter , faster than the smaller 1 , but ultimatly the moment a star begins to produce iron ,,,its all down hill from there ...so to (A ) your (Q) the moment fusion begins
