Scientists originally thought RNA was simply a messenger that passes information between the DNA and the protein generating structures within a cell. Now, however, evidence is emerging that RNA plays a far more dynamic role in determining the phenotype of an organism. Provide evidence supporting this theory and explain how the original primitive RNA sequences could give rise to the diversity of life that inhabits Earth today.

And no, it is not multiple choice :/

Who is this true O.o ? This is cool I guess. I wanna see the answer to this :D

for evolutionary studies mostly ribosomal rna is studied..this is because, ribosomal rna is highly conserved between and among species.....especially in case of bacteria .....16srna is studied because it is present in almost all bacteria and its function has not changed over time ..and is highly filled with information that u can understand the bacteria phenotypically.....the rrna is conserved in the sense, it is specific for each species....due to mutation which is a main source of variation during evolution rrna sequence changes.....For origination of life...RNA world hypothesis was proposed and this stated that RNA is self replicating and acted as precursors for DNA and proteins and helped in evolution of life....:-)
