3(4y-5)+6(-5+9)...... the answer i came out with was 12y can someone tell me if I did it right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if this is just an expression, the answer is 12y + 9 but if this is an equation, the answer is -3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get the +9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it goes like this: 3(4y-5)+(-5+9) 12y-15-30+54 12y+9 or if this is an equation it goes like this: 12y+9=0 12y=-9 y= -3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*3(4y-5)+6(-5+9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay got it.... thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

check the value when you multiplied 6 to 9. 6 multiplied to 9 is equal to 54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem. :)
