It's a trick question sort of :) Key word being "AT LEAST" 2 colors. She can use as many as she wants. That help you at all?

Let n be the no.of colors he has. 
She can mix 2, 3,4 ...or n colors together to attain a mixture

=> C(n,2) + C(n,3) + C(n,4).... C(n,n) <500
