so confused, please help! What is the solution set for the inequality 3x - 7 >9 if the replacement set is {-2, 0, 5, 7, 11, 13}? Answer {-2, 0, 5} {7, 11, 13} {-2, 0, 5, 7, 11, 13} {0, 5, 7, 11} i dont understand this at all!
The replacement set is x = {-2, 0, 5, 7, 11, 13} Basically, they want you to replace x in the inequality 3x - 7 > 9 with a number in the replacement set and then figure out if it is true for every value in the set. The numbers that make the inequality true are in the solution set. Those that make the inequality false are not. For example, if we try x = 0: 3(0) - 7 > 9 0 - 7 > 9 -7 > 9 FALSE Thus zero is not in the solution set However, if we try x = 7: 3(7) - 7 > 9 21 - 7 > 9 14 > 9 True Thus 7 is in the solution set.
Find the rest of the numbers that are in the solution set.
thank you so much!
