\[\left[\begin{matrix}\frac{ 9 }{ 8 }a \\ \frac{ 9 }{ 8 }(a+b) \end{matrix}\right] Q: can \frac{ 9 }{ 8 } \] cancel each other ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AravindG

OpenStudy (aravindg):

no!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+4y =5a+4b -2x+y =b-a Find the solutions x and y

OpenStudy (aravindg):

wai t a sec pls ,,,i jst need to review this once more

OpenStudy (aravindg):

ok for the first one do you know the reason why 9/8 canot cancel?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't know

OpenStudy (aravindg):

well a matrix is multiplied by a constant then each trm of it gets multiplied by it

OpenStudy (aravindg):

in you question the constant is 9/8 as we can see each element got multiplied by it

OpenStudy (aravindg):

so we can take 9/8 outside determinant and write as
