OpenStudy (waheguru):

Reviewing for CHemistry and came accross a simple confusion H2 + O2 = H20 now is this reaction a synthesis or combustion?

OpenStudy (waheguru):

*In my notes I have combustion but when even oxygen reacts with an element its supposed to be combustion, can anyone clearify this question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

both...combustion and synthesis X any element or a compound + O2 is a combustion.. X + Y = XY is a synthesis reaction...

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

you can google that question. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120402131546AAnjNv6
