OpenStudy (realitywillslapyou):

I need to describe a real life scenario where inequalities are used and state the inequality, but I don't know how!

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The speed limit is 75 mph. Describe this as an inequality using s for speed. s <= 75

OpenStudy (realitywillslapyou):

So it would be s is less then or equal to 75mph

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

s is less than or equal to 75 means that s, the speed, can be any number up to and including 75, but not more than 75. The less than or equal to sign is used because 75 is included.

OpenStudy (realitywillslapyou):

Okay, thank you soo much dude!

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

A car's weight capacity is 500 lb (including passengers and cargo). Call c the weight capacity. c <= 500
