what will happen if a semiconductor is doped with a metal like iron or some other good conductor..................

it would be useless unless you can get them to have either lots of holes or lots of electrons.. thats the whole point of doping.. you see pure semiconductors will always have same no. of holes and electrons.. and very small in no. hence conduction is extremely small.. bt i can enhance that if i could get a trivalent or a pentavalent impurity in which case, the doped semiconductor would either have excess of holes or excess of electrons.. !! and now.. now i can have a good conduction! and by making a diode.. i can even control when i want the flow of current through them and when i don't (using forward and reverse biasing technique .. unlike normal conductors who always conduct).. thats why semiconductors rule the world today.. your computers, calculators anything digital is made of tinnie tiny silicon semiconductors!
