Calculate the length of AD given AB = 3.5 cm, AC = 28 cm, and AE = 14 (Attachment inside!)

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

(AB)(AC) = (AD)(DE) Use this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In that case, wouldn't it be 3.5 cm? However, the only choices I have is: A. 3 cm B. 4 cm C. 7 cm D. 1.75 cm

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@shubhamsrg I think you have a typo in your response.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

Ohh, yep, It'll be AB*AC = AD*AE as @mathstudent55 rightly pointed out, thanks sire.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, it would be C, 7?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks guys!
