You need to choose between two telephone plans for local calls. Plan A charges $25 per month for unlimited calls. Plan B has a monthly fee of $13 with a charge of $0.06 per local call. How many local telephone calls in a month make Plan A the better deal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

$25<$13*$0.06/Call locally to be better deal for Plan A

$25>$13*$0.06/Call locally, to be better deal for Plan B

If you set up an equation like this you can find the total number of calls you can make equal to Plan A: 25=13+0.06x 12=0.06x 200=x So, you can make 200 calls for $25, which is equal to Plan A. So, if you make more than 200 calls a month, it makes Plan A a better deal. :o)
