OpenStudy (nicole143):

I can’t remember the proper term for when the same line is congruent. EX: Line DB is congruent to line DB.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Any line segment is congruent to itself by the reflexive property Ex: segment AB = segment AB

OpenStudy (nicole143):

I thought reflexive property was line DB is congruent to line BD. I think it has something to do with congruence of same line but I can’t place the mathematical term.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

BD is DB to name a line segment, you just list off the two endpoints in any order

OpenStudy (nicole143):

Ok so reflexive is to both DB=DB and DB=BD

OpenStudy (nicole143):

Right?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

correct, these 4 things say the same thing DB = BD DB = DB BD = BD BD = DB and they all basically say that a line segment is congruent to itself by the reflexive property

OpenStudy (nicole143):

Great! Thank you(:

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome
