i didnt mean to. but i think that if the mass should be 430 grams plus or minus 20. we would write it like this: |m+20| (< or = ) 430. because the second part is plus to and it states in the answer m+ 20 is less than or equal to 430... @KonradZuse i just confused my self

Think of the number line. Your problem says that the numbers are more than 6 units from 0. that means they must be to the right of 6 or to the left of -6. Then they will be more than 6 units from 0. So you should write: 4a+6>6 or 4a+6<-6 Solve each part.
