Organic chemistry... Ethanol and fun stuff

Draw all products and name them. Name all the regents and tell what reacton we are dealing with.

I álways forget PCC on A -.-

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Hmm...this is quite a bit. I will help you out tomrw as soon as I wake up during breakfast :) but as I take a glance at it, F + G are double bonds. But its tricky b/c it's a primary alcohol. I am not sure if you need the detailed mechanism, but it's different. Here's a note that I highly advise you to remember: YOU CAN NOT HAVE A PRIMARY CARBOCATION! PCC is an oxidizing agent, I think it forms an aldehyde for a primary alcohol, and ketone with secondary...

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Yea I was just told that if I used a oxidizing agent but not with PCC present, it would be further oxidized to a carboxylic acid.

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Which kinda make sense
