Some doubts while revising c++ and general computer science for my finals : i have provided my attempt+doubts with each of them.if you have anything to add please tell. and please verify my answers
1.the magnetic tape is divided into _____and ________.
no idea on this qn
Quick question... For number one, is it a one word answer?
its jst fill up
ya 1 word in each of 2 dashes
vertical columns (frames) and horizontal rows (channels/tracks).
prob frames and channels?
@Kuoministers Is correct.
ok thanks ... 2.IDE=integrated development environment right?
is it the same as in IDE cables?
yes
im nto sure about in IDE cables
@AravindG You are correct on it.
3.what is the part specified 10/100/1000 LAN Is it modem?
Those are bandwidth.
Ethernet bandwidths...
of network connection?
ethernet is see
3. what we mean by interfacing?
Interfacing can mean many thing things... Here is one: Computer interfacing: the art of connecting computers and peripherals. In a lot of circumstances, it looks more like magic than art. It is not uncommon that you end up removing all unnecessary hardware from your computer to get that communication device to work. Despite all plug-and-play internal hardware solutions for the PC, connecting a number of external devices still requires some amount of technical knowledge and experience. These pages will guide you through this process.
4.______memory is used to compensate the speed mismatch between main memory and CPU Is it cache? 5.What part is said here 10/1000 mbps PCJ NIC ,RJ45 is this also bandwidth ?
6 .part specified 400 W SMPS is it related to motherboard
7. Can anyone give me specifications for a home pC and specifications for professional purpose .usually they ask 5 mark question from any of these
4. Is probably Cache... Cache means: cache is a specially designed buffer storage used to improve computer performance by reducing access time. It holds instructions and data that are likely to be needed for next operation by the processor. The cache copies frequently accessed data and instructions from primary storage (main memory) or secondary storage (disks). 5: Sounds like a Network Interface Card.(NIC) 6: Yes.
7: A normal home computer depends on what you do at home... A professional computer usually has components needed for the job. Like Video Rendering require more RAM then most other jobs. Offline I grabbed: Home: Processor - dual core 2.4 GHz+ (i3, i5, or i7 series Intel processor or equivalent AMD) RAM - 4 GB Hard Drive - 160 GB Graphics Card - any with DVI support - desktop only Wireless (for laptops) - 802.11a/b/g/n (WPA2 support required) Monitor - 19" LCD with DVI support - desktop only Operating System - Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 Pro: Processor - dual core 3.6+ GHz+ RAM - 8 - 16 GB Hard Drive - 500GB - 1TB Graphics Card - Depends (eg. Video rendering would require a high end etc.) Operating System - Windows 7 Ultimate/Professional
so what all should i specify if they ask a question?
like souldnt we include sound card etc?
It really depends on what you need.
ok what about disk drive for both?whats the specification for that?
and also i need detailed specification like for ram wheter it is ddr2 and abt cache and all
An Optical Drives are being used less and less because of newer and faster technologies like USBs. But usually a home or professional computer would can the same Optical Drive.
so what is specification for that ?
A computer stores website can help :P Here is a normal Optical Drive: 16/10/40+4/2.4/8X 4.7 GB DVD+RW Dimensions (H x W x D) 4.23 x 14.6 x 19.8 cm (1.66 x 5.83 x 7.74 inches) Data transfer rates - Read Digital audio extraction (minimum) -1,200 KB/s (8X) CD read - up to 6,000 KB/s (40X) DVD read - up to 10,800 KB/s (8X) Media and formats: CD-DA (Red Book), CD-ROM (Modes 1 and 2 -Yellow Book), CD-ROM XA (Mode 2, Forms 1 and 2), CD-I (FMV), Photo CD (single and multi-session), Video CD, CD-Text, CD Extra; CD media: stamped, CD-R, CD-RW DVD formats: DVD-ROM, DVD-Video (with application support); DVD media: stamped (single or dual layer, single sided), DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW Data transfer rates - Write DVD+R write - 5,412 KB/s (4X) DVD+RW write or rewrite - 3,247 KB/s (2.4X) CD-R write - 600 KB/s (4X) CD-R write - 1200 KB/s (8X) CD-R write - 2,400 KB/s (16X) CD-RW write - 600 KB/s (4X) CD-RW write - 1500 KB/s (10X)

and also i need detailed(1 line) specification like for ram wheter it is ddr2 and abt cache and all
what i am actually asking for is i am satisfied with this specification , Home: Processor - dual core 2.4 GHz+ (i3, i5, or i7 series Intel processor or equivalent AMD) RAM - 4 GB Hard Drive - 160 GB Graphics Card - any with DVI support - desktop only Wireless (for laptops) - 802.11a/b/g/n (WPA2 support required) Monitor - 19" LCD with DVI support - desktop only Operating System - Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 but i want ram and hard disk more specified like others and disk srive included
