determine slope and y-intercept: (3,57) (5,91)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i found slope = 17 how do i find y-intercept ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can locate y-intercept by setting x = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is a application that will help you with these math problems its called "Microsoft Mathematics".

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm i want to learn to do by hand:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@binarymimic can u explain a bit more ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It will show you how to get the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MajicMuzyk is it like a software ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once you have an equation of the line, just let x = 0 and solve for y. that will give you the y-intercept. the equation of a line in point slope form is: \[y - y_{1} = m(x - x_{1})\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes @Shido88

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MajicMuzyk thanks! I will try it out
