Why did many colonists protest the Stamp Act? What actions did the Colonists take? How did the Loyalists respond? Provide details to support your answer.
Well the colonist protested the stamp act because it put high unfair taxes on items, even the littlest ones like playing cards, newspapers, books and eventually tea. Also they did not want to be controlled in any way by Britain. Some actions the Colonist took were boycotting certain items that had the stamp act with taxes. "No taxation without representation!" They had riots, you might remember one...Does The Boston Tea Party..Ring a bell? haha.. Anyways The Loyalist responded by doing..well not really much of anything I'd guess. They wanted to remain "Loyal" to the crown. Hence the name "Loyalist". Though most didn't like the tax either. But they didn't do much to stop it at all.
