I'll do both cases: \[\frac{-3x}{7} =\frac{6}{35}\]Multiply both sides by -7/3 (the reciprocal of the coefficient of x) \[\frac{-7}{3}*\frac{-3x}{7} = \frac{-7}{3}*\frac{6}{35} \rightarrow x = -\frac{2}{5}\] \[\frac{-3}{7x} = \frac{6}{35}\]Again multiply both sides by -7/3 \[\frac{-7}{3}*\frac{-3}{7x} = \frac{-7}{3}*\frac{6}{35} \rightarrow \frac{1}{x} = -\frac{2}{5}\]Multiply both sides by x\[x*\frac{1}{x} = -\frac{2}{5}*x\]Multiply both sides by -5/2\[x*\frac{1}{x} *\frac{-5}{2}= -\frac{2}{5}*\frac{-5}{2}*x\rightarrow x=-\frac{5}{2}\]
