For the parallelogram, find coordinates for P without using any new variables....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a – c, c) (c, a) (a + c, b) (c, b)

Ya, I saw like this exact thing on my math notes I took but Im confused. I think the letters are throwing me off XD

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Another hint: the point P is exactly level with the point (a,b), so the y coordinate of P is b so... P = (x,b) all you need to do is figure out what replaces the 'x' in terms of a, b, or c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it (c. a?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

close

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

but notice how the x coordinate of the point (a,b) is x = a

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you start at x = a and you walk c units to the right, where do you end up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

p

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes, but ignore P for a sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then b right?
