It's to protect you. Believe it or not.

In the past, people have tried to cheat on tests and quizzes,
by asking for the answers, on this site.

Afterward, they would get people to delete the answers.
And then they would delete the questions that they asked.

This was all so that they wouldn't be caught cheating.

When the openstudy administrators see questions that have been "deleted,"
the suspend the users.
Sometimes permanently.
Because they assume (sometimes correctly so) that the users were trying to hide something. Thus, cheating.
