Describe the cultural contributions of the Byzantine Empire. I NEED HELP!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Byzantines eh? That's an interesting question, because basically the Byzantine Empire was the Eastern half of the Roman Empire as time moved into the Medieval era. This was an extremely interesting time period because many powerful nations were scrambling to claim themselves the heir of the Roman Empire. the Germans, Turks, Russians, and Italians were all nations that attempted to adopt the spirit of Rome, the Germans and Austrians went so far as to call themselves the "Holy Roman Empire". A direct cultural contribution of the Byzantines before their collapse? Lets see.. ;

Thanks for replying I know there is barely any info on this but I needed an answer more based on religion

*culture

Culture? I understand it being religious but culture? I was about to go into the crusades, that would've been awkward. Compared to the Greeks and Romans the Byzantines didn't leave much of a cultural legacy to be honest...

I honestly was lost through this section, cultural contributions aren't really discussed, so idk
