help please, real quick only one problem :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

32) -6/7y – 6 >= 42 i am not quiet sure how to do this and work it out completely if someone could tell me how or do it for me :) i have a lot of math left to do! THANKS

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the problem is \[\Large -\frac{6}{7}y - 6 \ge 42\] right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

\[\Large -\frac{6}{7}y - 6 \ge 42\] \[\Large -\frac{6}{7}y\ge 42+6\] \[\Large -\frac{6}{7}y\ge 48\] \[\Large y\le (48)\left(-\frac{7}{6}\right)\] \[\Large y\le \left(\frac{48}{1}\right)\left(-\frac{7}{6}\right)\] \[\Large y\le \frac{48*(-7)}{1*6}\] \[\Large y\le \frac{-336}{6}\] \[\Large y \le -56\]

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Keep in mind the sign flips when you multiply both sides by a negative number

Okay, thank you very much!!! This helped a lot :)
