The butcher, the baker, and the brewer all want repeat business. If you are happy, you will return, and spend more money. thus, the butcher sells you good meat so you will come back tomorrow and buy another roast. It is in his best interest. If he sells you rotten meat, and you get sick and die, he cannot sell to you again.
