How come our planet is not covered with bacteria?

Basically, our planet IS actually covered with bacteria. Everywhere you look, there are a lot more bacterias than you can imagine. In the oceans, on the grass, on the rocks, inside your own body... Bacterias are everywhere. They are just too tiny for us to see them without precise instruments.
