What is the length of the side opposite the 60 angle? (Picture below.)
114?
Sorry i read the question wrong... Let me try this again
Okay! (:
Well take out your calculator.. If we have an angle and the right angle side length measurements we can use Tangent to solve for the opposite side. The tan of 60 is 1.73 Now we use the formula.. \[Tan(60) = \frac{ x }{ 6 }\] 60 being our angle, x being the opposite side we are solving for and 6 is the length of the adjacent side that is part of the right angle. So just solve for x
Thank you so much.
Just remember SOH CAH TOA (Sine, Cosine, Tangent) Opposite, Hypotenuse, Adjacent.
Otherwise the steps to it are exactly the same.
I got \[-6\sqrt{3}\] is that right?
That whole equation is just a fancy way of saying 6*1.73
Length = 6*1.73 right?
Yes. 10.38 is your answer
Thank you so much!
Just say you had the same question only with the angle being 40, you would to tan of 40 which is 0.84. Then we multiply it by 6 (Or whatever length the adjacent side is) Just remember different sides require the use of Tan Sin or Cos.
But yeah your welcome. I think you understand it now.
