Solve the system of equations by substitution. What is the solution for x? 2x + y = 1 4x + 2y = −2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No solution. Because 2x+y = 1 in first equation and 2x+y = -1 in second equation. Its not possible to get 2 values for same (x, y) pair.
