As people from other continents came to find jobs in western empires, native citizens moved east and south to preserve their culture. As the agricultural land available became depleted in western empires, citizens moved east and south to find fertile land. The extent of my knowledge on African history is when it was being colonized, can't help there sorry. Mayans, Aztecs. and Incas all had very specific social pyramids, and governments. The Inca had someone who was basically a king, and below him there were four "apos" who ran various departments, basically like the United States "Department of ___" and the presidential executive cabinet.
