A gram of carbohydrates and a gram of protein both have 4 Calories. What percent of the Calories in each food are from carbohydrates? Round your answer to the nearest percent. Charts --------- Macaroni & Cheese | Spaghetti & Meat Sauce | ------------------| -------------------- Carbohydrates | 40 g | Carbohydrates | 39 g | Protein | 10 g | Protein | 19 g |
first you figure out how many calories there are total; in Mac and Cheese you've got 50 grams, with 4 calories per (since they're equal, we don't worry about separating them) so that's 200 calories total. Now we have 40 grams of carbos with 4 calories per gram, for 160 grams altogether. 160 over 200 is .8. Move the decimal to the right two slots and you get a clean 80 percent :) You can figure out the other problem from that, yeah?
Is it 67.2%? Rounding off to 68%.
Bingo :)
OH YEAAAA!! Thank you!! :D After I saw what you put, I realized how easy it was.. ;P Thanks!
