6. In fair weather, there is an electric field at the surface of the Earth, pointing down into the ground. What is the sign of the electric charge on the ground in this situation?

The electric field lines represents the movement of a positive charge. If the electric field is pointing downwards that means if a positive charge is placed on this field it will go down to the ground. Which means the ground should be negetively charged
