Which equation should be used to solve this problem? Carol has 3 children. The youngest child is 4 years younger than the middle child. The oldest child is 6 years older than the middle child. The youngest child is 8. The sum of their ages is 12 years less than Carol's age. How old is Carol? Let c = Carol's age; y = youngest child.

@JayDS no, I don't have any clue on how to solve this.

hint: first list the children. Y=youngest, M=Middle, O=Oldest we are told the youngest child is 8, now try do the rest, it should be manageable.
