@AriPotta

OpenStudy (aripotta):

did you use the Pythagorean theorem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (aripotta):

a^2 + b^2 = c^2 16^2 + 12^2 = c^2 c is the length of WX

OpenStudy (anonymous):

400

OpenStudy (aripotta):

can you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AriPotta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

16^2 + 12^2 = c^2 256 + 122 = c^2 400 = c^2 but you have to find what c is, not c^2. so find the square root of 400 to get c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12

OpenStudy (aripotta):

12 isn't the square root of 400 :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AriPotta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then idk?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

....did you use a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it 20?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yes. 20 is your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o thanks

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no problemo
