Which one of these equations is correctly written in Standard Form? x + 2y = −10 x + y = −5 2x + 5.5y = −5 −2x + y = −10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ax+by=c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm thinking the third one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you explain why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because there is a coefficient in front of x and y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think they always have to have coefficients though...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"a" has to be a positive integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it can't be the last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wasnt sure so I asked for help, they all seemed alright to me. Although i havent seen a decimal used in slope though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So thats just it..? Hmm is there something missing that you might of forgot to type?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

brb

It was the first. The second and fourth were wrong, and the third is wrong because it's not a whole number. Thanks for helping.
