I really need some help please.(:
Do you know the formula for the volume of a box? For the second one, you'll have to use Pythagoras to find the height of the triangle, from which you can find the area, then multiply by the length of the prism.
No I don't remember the formula..
Number 1: ------------ rectangle is LxWxH (Length*Width*Height) length=12.1cm width=5.3cm height=4.2cm ------------ LxWxH (12.1cm)*(5.3cm)*(4.2cm) 269.346cm^3
Thank you so much! Can you help me with the other one?(:
Hey, if you just wanted the answers, why didn't you say so? Then I wouldn't have to spend any time trying to help you learn the material...
I don't mind learning it ha, but yeah I'm trying go fast I have to have stuff turned in by Tuesday..
Number 2: ------------ Volume of Triangular Prism: (1/2)*a*c*h ( http://www.mathwarehouse.com/solid-geometry/triangular-prism/images/triangular-prism-formula-full-picture.jpg) ------------ Your c is given, where C=13yards ----------------------------- To find a, use pythagorean theorem where a^2+b^2=c^2. Note: c from the pythagorean theorem (not the given above) will be the hypotenuse, which is 13 yards (the numbers on the very left of the picture) You want to find a so first your c is 13 and your b is 13/2 because you want half of that triangle. a^2+b^2=c^2 and c=13, b=13/2 a^2+(13/2)^2=13^2 a^2+(169/4)=169 a^2=169-(169/4) a^2=(676/4)-(169/4) a^2=507/4 a=square root of 507/4=(13*radical(3))/2 ------------------------------------ height is given h=24 ------------------------------- V=(1/2)*a*c*h V=(1/2)*(sqrt507/4)*13*24 V=156*(sqrt507/4) V=1014sqrt3 V is about 1756.2995188748 yd^3
Thank you, this helps so much! Do you have time for 3 more?(:
im procrastinating on my last math homework anyways
(1 point) 127.16 m3 74.8 m3 432.34 m3 63.58 m3 For question 4, find the volume of the square pyramid shown. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary. 4. (1 point) 33.3 ft3 400 ft3 1,200 ft3 600 ft3 5. Find the volume of the cone shown as a decimal rounded to the nearest tenth. (1 point) 728.8 m3 1,093.3 m3 1,639.9 m3 4,373.1 m3
3. Assuming you want the volume of the cylinder V=pi*r^2*h pi=3.14..... r=3.4m h=11m V=pi*(3.4)^2*11 V=pi*127.16 m^3
4. Volume of a Pyramid = (1/3)b*h Note: b=Area of Base (area of the square) height=13ft base=area of square=s^2 s=10ft so s^2=100ft^2 V=(1/3)*(100)*(13) V=1300/3 which is about 433.3333333333333333
5. Volume of a Cone: V=(1/3)*pi*r^2*h height=29m ------------- diameter=12m >> but you want radius and radius=diameter/2=12/2=6m ------------- radius=6m ------------- using V=(1/3)*pi*r^2*h V=(1/3)*pi*(6)^2*29 V=(1/3)*pi*1044 V=348*pi and since pi=3.14.... V is about 1093m^3
