Which of the following is a polynomial with roots -2, -3, and 3 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where is the polynomials?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following is a polynomial with roots -2, -3, and 3 ? x3 + 4x2 + 9x + 24 x3 - 4x2 + 9x - 24 x3 + 2x2 + 9x + 18 x3 - 2x2 + 9x - 18

well u can use a calculator if u can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u show me ?? ples help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if we want to find it manually, we have to substitute the opposite value of root, let me show you. roots meaning (x-2) (x-3) (x+3) from what was given, this is in (x+a) form. we just have to substitute the opposite sign of the a value to each equation and find which one is equal to zero. say we want to try x-2 we substitute x=2 into the any of the equations, if it does not equal zero it is not a factor.

OpenStudy (theviper):

put the values in every polynomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TheViper is there any other faster way?

OpenStudy (theviper):

wait

OpenStudy (theviper):

yes @JayDS ;)

OpenStudy (theviper):

the polynomial will be :- [x-(-2)][x-(-3)][x-(3)]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k, cause I thought there is but I just couldn't think of it so I asked u, please tell @nhatnguyen and I would like to know as well.

OpenStudy (theviper):

=(x+2)(x+3)(x-3)

one question, how do you know that they aren't raised to the power of 2,3 or so on?
