I can't find an easy answer here, but maybe this is of help:
-If you use energy more efficiently, it should mean that for the same result, we need less energy.
- If we get more heat energy from electrical devices, the electrical devices will still use the normal amount of energy. However, if we use the heat energy from the devices somehow, we might not have to spend energy on heating. As transforming heat to energy can never get an efficiency of 100%, we still spend more energy in the end than we can win back from the energy.
- Part of the energy we get comes from fossil fuels. By increasing the amount of fossil fuels we use, we might generate more energy, but this does not mean we use less.

The only answer that reduces the amount of energy you use is the first one. The other two clearly don't reduce the energy you use, they just change how you get it.
