What is the area of a circle with circumference of 9.42 inches?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Since A is pi times r^2, you need to find the radius. C = 2 times pi times r. So take the circumference and divide it by 2 and divide that answer by pi. That will be the radius. Square that answer and multiply it by pi. That will be the area.
